Forest Lake Golf Club is a championship parkland layout designed around natural lakes, palms, pines, and live oaks. The 229-acre property is located in Central Florida’s Ridge area, known for its superb sandy loam soils that provide excellent drainage, even after heavy rains. No housing developments are associated with our core design. The designers are also the majority owners and operators.

With five varied sets of tees, the course offers a challenge for top players while remaining fair for all skill levels. Easily accessible facilities include a great driving range, practice greens, and short-game practice areas. The Rusty Niblick provides excellent food and drinks, with daily beverage cart service available on the course. Our friendly staff is here to ensure you have an enjoyable experience!

Conveniently located between Ocoee and Apopka, Florida, take Exit 26 South off the 429 Expressway. Just 25 minutes from most resorts, downtown Orlando, and the airport.

I’ve played Forest Lake Golf course countless times, and it never fails to impress me. From the moment you arrive, the staff welcomes you with warmth and professionalism, making you feel like a valued guest/member every single visit.

The course itself is immaculately maintained. They lost a hole due to hurricane Milton but there immediately working on it and have fun temporary
Hole till it’s ready. The fairways are lush and perfectly manicured, offering a pristine playing surface that’s a dream for any golfer. The greens are consistently true and fast, challenging enough to test your putting skills but fair enough to reward good shots. Each hole offers something unique, from strategic doglegs to breathtaking par 3s that are as beautiful as they are challenging.

What sets this course apart is its stunning scenery. The layout makes the most of the natural surroundings, with picturesque views that can distract even the most focused golfer. Whether it’s the water features, the rolling hills, or the way the light hits the course at sunset, the beauty here is unparalleled. Also not having houses all over the course is the best ever makes you feel like your somewhere other then Orlando.

The practice facilities are equally top-notch, with a spacious driving range, well-maintained putting green, and short-game area that’s perfect for honing your skills. After the round, the clubhouse is the ideal place to unwind, offering delicious food, refreshing drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. The lady at the bar was super sweet and they offer coolers for your drinks which is a major plus and I always see the cart girl.

Whether you’re a scratch golfer or just starting out, this course offers a truly enjoyable experience. It’s challenging but fair, scenic but not overly distracting, and consistently delivers a 5-star experience. Highly recommended for anyone who loves the game!

DO NOT PLAY unless you want to waste time on a poor, burnt, slow course. The greens are terrible on average. My tire popped half way through my round because it was so burnt out (see photo) and my replacement dirt bucket had an empty beer can in it (see photo). Thought this place would be improved over the span of a month, it’s a shame since it’s the closest course around Ocoee / Winter Garden.

Afternoon price of 32$ is a complete rip off when you can go play Orange County National at this time of day for 10$ more. Management probably doesn’t care to fix these problems.

No where on their website do they say that there is a league that takes over the front or back half on Thursday afternoons. They force everyone else on the alternate nine, so it’s so backed up.

Not coming back for a long time. It’s a shame.

Original Review - Sept. 2024:

Good course for a quick after-work round. Review is closer to a 3.75 than a 4. Half of the holes are well kept, the other have poor fairways, slow/burnt greens, compacted bunkers, and poor drainage. Cart paths need work, and there are large "pot holes" just at the end of the paths, lots of jolts.

Twilight price was just about 30 dollars, definitely would not pay more than that until the course as a whole improves. There is potential for the course and I saw greens keepers actively working on the problem areas.

The driving range prices should be reconsidered, 6 dollars for small bucket, 11 for a large. Both are small. Completely understand that driving range is a high margin, profit padding part of any course. Yardage indicators would be greatly appreciated!

I've played this course with friends almost every week since it opened in 1994. It is the ONLY course in central FL that has consistently been in good shape year after year with a price point that is reasonable and appealing to the everyday golfer. Even today after hurricane Helene rolled through it was in great shape, both a testament to the design and the staff that manage and maintain it. We don't play here every week for nothing.

Yikes…. If you want to waste $50 this is the spot to go. Tee boxes are in shambles, greens are beyond hairy and gross. Rolling about a 4. Criminal to charge $50 for this place in the condition it was for a Saturday morning tee time…. Two stars because we saw the cart girl 4 times and that was very nice but besides that, never again.

Always enjoy this course. The layout is great. Fairways and greens are looking great. Course has alot of bunkers. They are in decent shape and not overly dense, so keep that in mind.
